Lemurs and Chickens and Ducks Oh My!
Come meet the ring tailed lemurs! Haja, Rena and baby Nina are our newest addition to join Lavender Ridge Farms. They have been here a couple of weeks and are happy to make this their new home. They have a big roomy cage with plenty of toys to keep them occupied. Come sit on the bench outside their cage and be entertained by their graceful jumps and playful moves. There are also new ducks and chickens that are always fun to watch. Don’t forget to see the goats while you are here. We wouldn’t want to leave them out.
Grapefest September 11-14
The farm will be closed next weekend but you can visit our booth at Grapefest in Grapevine, Texas. Grapefest is the largest wine festival in the Southwest. Unique wines, fantastic finds, love entertainment and family-friendly fun will highlight the 28th Annual Grapefest – A wine Experience in Historic Downtown Grapevine. www.grapevinetexasusa.com/grapefest-2014/
Lavender Ridge Farms Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off October 3-5
It’s getting closer and we can hardly wait for the fun to begin! You don’t want to miss this fun time of year at the farm. Are you an expert chili cook or chili taster? We are hosting our 2nd annual chili cook off October 4th during our Fall Festival. Let us know if you would like to participate. The chili cook off is a CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) event and all CASI rules apply. Visit www.chili.org for information and rules/policies. All proceeds from the chili cook off will go to Variety- the Children’s Charity of Texas. If you can’t cook chili and would rather just eat chili, we are looking for tasting judges to volunteer a few hours on Saturday.
