Hello to all of our friends!

We are back and rested from the Ft. Worth Stock Show. Now we are gearing up for another great year at Lavender Ridge Farms! As always, this is planning and preparation time for a new year on the farm. Many of you have asked how the lavender faired through the extreme heat and drought last year. Well, we did lose a good amount of plants, but not to worry, we will replant the missing plants this spring and if there is not enough lavender to go around we will plant plenty of other flowers and herbs so there will be something available to cut.

Lavender Ridge Farm Opens April 6, 2102The farm will reopen for the year on Friday April 6th.  Our hours will remain the same as last year. With the exception that we will be closed for Easter Sunday, April 8th.

We will be open Friday-Sunday, 9-5 and
the Café will be open 11-3 for lunch.

There should be tulips to see blooming around this time. We planted an additional 600 bulbs in and around the butterfly garden for this year. The lavender isn’t blooming at that time but for those of you that have cabin fever after the long cold winter, it’s a great time to join us in the fresh country air!

As a reminder, lavender blooms around the end of May each year and continues through about mid July. Our Lavender Festival is held each year on Memorial Day weekend and this year’s festival dates are May 26-28. The Lavender Festival starts the cutting season. That is when we start allowing folks in the field for cutting bouquets of fresh lavender.

For those of you interested in becoming a vendor at the festival, please send an email and we will get a vendor application to you. We always have room for more vendors. Each year the festival grows in attendance so if you have something unique to sell, we are interested in you joining us.

Cooking With Lavender

Our next cooking with lavender class will be here in the café’s kitchen, Sunday March 18th from 10:30-1:00. Learn how easy it is to use lavender in cooking, enjoy a delicious meal and have a fun time. We still have seats available but space is limited. Those interested please email soon to make your reservation. The cost is $25.00 per person and must be prepaid at time of reservation.
