Spring has Sprung!

All is well at Lavender Ridge as we are gearing up to reopen for the year. On Friday, April 6th, we will OPEN for the year.

Our hours are 9-5 and the café is open from 11-3. Although the lavender is not blooming, the beds are bursting with color after the much needed rains we have been getting.

The weather is continuing to be a prime time for a visit to the farm. We hope to see you.

Café News    

Join us in the Café for lunch and enjoy the beauty that surrounds the screened in dining room. Along with our usual menu there will be a special each week. We will post the special on our facebook page each week.

This week’s special is:

Smoked Turkey and Creamy Artichoke Sandwich served with Bowtie Pasta Salad. The dessert special is Lavender Strawberry Shortcake Trifle.

Easter Closing

We will be closed on Sunday, April 8th for Easter.

Speaking of Easter…come check out our baby bunnies that arrived just in time for Easter.They are sooo sweet!

Not only do we have baby bunnies but we also have 8 new baby goats that have recently been born and more on the way! Be sure to visit them while you are here.

Cooking With Lavender     

Our next cooking with lavender class will be here in the café’s kitchen, Saturday, April 21 from 10:30-1:00. Learn how easy it is to use lavender in cooking, enjoy a delicious meal and have a fun time. We still have seats available but space is limited. Those interested please email to make your reservation by April 14th. The cost is $25.00 per person and must be prepaid at time of reservation. We will be preparing lavender chicken, fresh herbed potatoes, lavender vinaigrette for our salad, lavender butter for our rolls, and lavender strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Lavender Festival 2012       

The lavender festival will be here before we know it. May 26-28 is the date to remember. This year we will celebrate all things lavender. Lavender cooking class and tasting, soap making class, lavender and perennial plant talks, how to make natural cleaning products classes will all be available during the festival this year.

As always we will have wonderful vendors that will be selling all kinds of treasures! Everything from antiques to handmade items will be available from our vendors. We may be short on lavender due to the excessive heat and drought last year but we will definitely not be short on good times! Interested in being a vendor? Email us for an application. There is always room for one more.

 

Germanfest April 27-29

The farm will be closed that weekend. We will be at Germanfest in Muenster Texas selling all of our wonderful products and plants as well.
